Or are there no rules against it, just common courtesy? Let's say for example someone wanted to post the street address of where Michael Jordan or Lindsay Lohan currently live, is there a rule stated somewhere saying you can't publish certain types of locations, even if there is the "Freedom of Speech"?
The reason I ask, I want to see if this concept would transfer over to this other area or not:
There is some debate on Wikipedia concerning whether the coordinates of "wild, ungated" caves should be allowed to be placed in the coordinates box. In the caving community, just because of how common cave vandalism has been, it's considered bad etiquette to publish GPS coordinates of ungated caves. This is especially true if there are things inside like stalactites and stalagmites, obviously sensitive to vandalism, and they take thousands of years to form. Many in the caving community will remove GPS coordinates from Wiki pages on caves, with the argument "unsourced". I was wondering if Wikipedia has any rules on not posting sensitive location data which could easily lead to vandalism?
